A Guide to the Average Temperature in Madeira

Madeira enjoys a mild, subtropical climate year-round. This means you can expect pleasant temperatures no matter when you visit.  Madeira experiences what is known as “island climate” meaning that one part of the island can be experiencing a totally different climate to another part at the same time. The altitude affects temperature too – the higher into the mountains you go, the further the temperature will drop.

Funchal and the south of the island generally has slightly better weather. There are some great enclaves and you can enjoy the warm winds coming from the Azores.
