Why did I stay here?
I chose Moxy Hamburg (Altona) due to its convenient location close to the UMCH Altona campus. Moxy is part of Marriott and offers modern, stylish hotels at slightly lower prices. What type of room should I choose?
For those on their own, I would recommend the Single Sleeper room. Although this room is compact, every inch of space is utilised. You will find a small sofa, places to store your clothes and luggage and an en-suite bathroom equipped with toiletries. The single sleeper does come with a small double bed, but the maximum capacity is just 1 adult.
Food and drinks are available late at night at the hotel bar located just behind reception. The main menu during the daytime is perfect – see what I had for lunch below:
Other things I liked about Moxy:
- 24/7 English-speaking reception staff

- Great amenities such as toiletries, modern TV, plenty of charging points, sound system and fast, free Wifi.
- Beds are super-comfortable with a high thread count
- Prices of additional services such as breakfast (if you don’t have it included in your room rate) and drinks are reasonable

Some points to consider:
- There is no tea or coffee in the room, however, a bottle of water is provided and you can purchase additional drinks in the bar downstairs. The buffet breakfast is also great and has coffee included in the price.
- There is no fridge in the room
What transport options are available?
