Why island hop?

Island hopping in the Canary Islands is an adventure that unveils the unique character of each island. My journey began in Gran Canaria, where the vibrant city life of Las Palmas blends seamlessly with the tranquil beauty of the dunes of Maspalomas. Throughout the trip, I explored the diverse landscapes from the bustling markets to the serene beaches highlighting the island’s dual personality.

Part Two

From Gran Canaria, I took a ferry to Tenerife. Here, the highlight was exploring the ancient forests of Anaga Rural Park, where trails lead through lush greenery and offer stunning ocean vistas. Tenerife’s rich history and vibrant nightlife provided a lively contrast to the natural exploration during the day.

Part Three

Next, I visited El Hierro, the smallest and most remote of the main islands. Known for its sustainability efforts, El Hierro is a model of renewable energy. The peace of the island, combined with its rugged coastline and clear waters, made it an ideal spot for those seeking a retreat from the hustle and bustle. You can book a private, guided tour of the island here.

Finally, La Palma, known as “La Isla Bonita” (the beautiful island), lived up to its name with verdant forests and black volcanic beaches. The slow pace of life and the beauty of the natural surroundings were a perfect end to my island-hopping adventure.

Each island offered a unique experience, from cultural richness to ecological wonders. This journey through the Canary Islands was a vivid exploration of diversity, beauty, and the enduring charm of these Atlantic jewels. If you want to book multiple flights, I would suggest using Kiwi. They handle the online check-in for you, or provide the reference number so you can do it yourself. Alternatively, some routes offer free airport check-in. They also have a whole series of hacks that allow you to fly for less. When you book multiple flights, you get one flight price in the currency of your choice. If that’s not enough, you get a 10€ discount on your first trip with my referral link
