For those considering a hotel close to Heathrow Terminal 2 or 3, the Hilton Garden Inn could be your answer. Firstly, it is the only hotel linked to terminal 2, besides Aerotel. Secondly, you can experience the luxury of the Hilton Brand. Hilton Garden Inn provide facilities for both business and leisure travellers with comfortable work desks, social spaces, a fitness centre, shop and restaurant all on-site.

This hotel is best suited to those travelling from Terminal 2. If you are travelling from Terminal 3, you need to walk back through the car park but instead of entering Terminal 2, take the elevator or escalator to the lowest floor, then walk through the tunnel to Terminal 3. The walk is well-signposted and takes around 10 minutes.

For those travelling from Terminal 4 or 5, follow the same instructions but instead of walking all the way to Terminal 3, follow the blue signs for “free terminal transfer” or “London Underground” and take the train or tube one stop to your terminal.

For those arriving into the central bus station, including National Express coaches, take the escalator or elevator down one floor, then follow the signs for Terminal 2. Then, take the elevator up to the departures level and turn back towards the car park. You will then see a sign for the Hilton when you are in the car park.

For those travelling to or from central London on the Underground or Heathrow Express, simply follow the signs to terminal 2 then take any of the 3 elevators to level 1. If you are travelling from central London, book your Heathrow Express ticket in advance and save big.

This hotel can be booked with Holiday Extras – combine with airport parking, lounge access or security fast-track for an even better deal!

Lounges at Heathrow available to book if you are not travelling in first or business class:

Terminal 2 – No1 Lounges and Plaza Premium

Terminal 3 – Club Aspire and No1 Lounges

Terminal 5 – Club Aspire and Plaza Premium

When you enter there is a short walk to the reception area, where you will also find the shop selling toiletries and snacks as well as coffee, although prices are slightly inflated. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. Note that you are required to show a passport or national ID card at check-in. A £50 deposit is taken, and this is returned several days later to the same credit card, minus any fees for items you may have ordered during your stay.

What makes this hotel great is the view of the planes from the bar on the 15th floor. Note that only 2 of the 4 elevators service the 15th floor, and you do need to either be a guest or accompanied by a guest to access any of the floors besides floor 0 or 1.

Rooms contain what you would expect at a Hilton hotel. There is an iron and ironing board, small fridge, laptop safe, phone, kettle, plenty of lighting and a desk in the room, as well as a small beside desk on each side of the double bed. WiFi is fairly fast and available throughout the hotel. The bathrooms contain plenty of towels as well as a walk-in shower, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. See photos below:

In terms of pricing, you can expect to pay between £150 and £200 for a one-night stay. Compare prices with Trivago and make sure you always get the best deal. I booked via ZenHotels and enjoyed their free cancellation option, as well as the fact that I could pay on arrival and have the buffet breakfast included in my room rate.
